LABEL IDEAS & MATERIALS

A useful little label.
Far beyond cables.

LabelCraft is a Native Mac Desktop App for the Brady M211. Use its text layouts for the things you own, the places they belong and the connections you need to identify.

Start with the surface, then choose the material.

LabelCraft includes 99 M21 cartridge profiles across 15 material families. These are editor profiles; choose the exact compatible SKU and follow its application instructions.

Electrical panel and circuit identification

Create clear text IDs for panel circuits, faceplates and equipment references. The panel example labels every visible breaker separately; blank filler positions are left clear. Use your own verified circuit descriptions. Choose material and dimensions for the actual panel surface.

Equipment, faceplates & flat surfaces

Brady lists B-423 white and B-430 clear polyester for equipment and panel identification, on flat, smooth surfaces. Use short, readable text IDs.

Bins, shelves, tools & general organization

B-595 vinyl is listed for storage and general identification. B-581 repositionable vinyl is an option for indoor locations that need relabeling. Check suitability for your specific surface.

Vials, tubes & laboratory containers

The catalogue includes B-488 chemical-resistant polyester, B-461 cryogenic polyester and B-7425 polypropylene. Compare the exact stock’s chemical, temperature and surface specifications to your process.

Temporary & reusable-container IDs

B-403 water-dissolvable paper is intended for removable identification. For household containers, label the exterior and follow the material’s use instructions; suitability for direct food contact is not implied.

Cables, bundles & curved surfaces

Consider B-427 self-laminating wraps, B-499 nylon, B-414 hook material or the appropriate heat-shrink sleeve. Read the cable materials guide →

Material applications above follow Brady’s M21 label guide ↗. Match the stock to the actual surface, exposure and application instructions. The illustrations are label ideas, not proof of material performance.

Give every project a consistent naming pattern.

Try BIN {n}, EQ {n}, SHELF {n} or PORT {n}. Set the starting number, step, count and digit padding, then review the plan. The app screenshots currently show a studio-input sequence; the template text can be your own.

Bring your names from a CSV.

A UTF-8 CSV can contain a required text column plus optional name and copies columns. Every row inherits the current design’s cartridge, dimensions and typography. Make separate batches when changing materials.

Check the first applied label.

Match the loaded cartridge, check the text size and placement, and test adhesion on the actual item before printing more. Catalogued support does not establish physical validation for every stock. The existing physical calibration is for M21-1500-427; other cartridges need a first placement check.

These are text identification examples. LabelCraft does not currently provide barcode generation, automated asset tracking, a dedicated terminal-block layout mode, or a safety-sign compliance workflow.
